Marketing Session

Pitch & Proposition

A focused working session for making the thing you are presenting considerably easier to understand and say yes to. This is where storytelling and commercial thinking meet: getting the full picture of what you are building into a shape an investor, a stakeholder or a customer can actually follow and believe.

Pitch & Proposition combines commercial thinking, structure and communication. We work out what you are truly selling or asking for, what the audience needs to understand and believe, and how the story should move so you reach your goal.

Bring me
  • a rough business idea you need to explain convincingly
  • an existing proposition that is not landing strongly enough
  • a service or offer that has become difficult to describe
  • a sales pitch or partner pitch
  • an investor deck
  • a presentation for an important opportunity
  • a new commercial story for the company
  • a proposal with too much information and no clear centre
  • a deck that looks finished but does not yet make the case
  • a strong idea that keeps receiving confused reactions

Just bring me what you need help with, and we will fix it in 60 to 90 minutes.

What you send in beforehand can be early and untidy. It can also be beautifully designed, all is fine.

Good for when you are thinking

What does this audience need to believe before they can say yes? Is the proposition itself strong enough? Where should the story begin? What belongs in the pitch, and what is making it harder to follow? Which claim needs stronger evidence? How do we make the opportunity feel as convincing outside the business as it does inside it?

What we work on

First, we define the purpose of the pitch and the response it needs to create. A customer choosing an offer, a partner seeing mutual value and an investor believing in the commercial opportunity all require different arguments.

Then we examine the proposition itself. We look at what is being offered, for whom, why it matters, what makes it credible and what the audience must understand in order to move forward.

From there, we work on logic and structure. That can include the order of the story, the strength of the argument, missing proof, unnecessary detail, the relationship between problem and solution, the ask and the language used to make key ideas memorable.

Depending on what you bring, we may reorganise a deck, rewrite the core proposition together, pressure test claims, sharpen an offer story, identify missing evidence or build the bones of a pitch from a rough idea.

This is not copywriting only. Better wording cannot rescue a proposition that does not yet make commercial sense. We fix the thinking and the communication together.

How this works

I bring business analysis, commercial judgement, positioning, storytelling and the ability to find the useful centre inside a large amount of material. I prepare this session in advance, so we can get to work quickly. I will tell you which part is convincing, where the logic breaks, what the audience is likely to question and which slide or sentence is doing far less work than everyone hopes. I can move between the company behind the pitch and the person receiving it, so the story remains true to the business while becoming much easier for someone else to follow.

Good to know

For Dutch business clients, this session will in many cases qualify as a business expense depending on your tax situation.

For international business clients, tax and VAT rules may differ. The price shown includes 21% Dutch VAT. At checkout, the correct VAT for your location and business details is calculated automatically, so your final price may be different from the price shown here. For example, VAT may be reverse-charged for eligible EU business clients, which may make the amount you pay lower than the price shown here.

What you can deduct or reclaim ultimately depends on your local tax rules, so check with your accountant or tax adviser if you’re unsure.
